WARNING: Race-Based Admissions in Medical Schools Could Cost You Your Life
This is neither a click-bait headline nor right-wing fearmongering. Plain and simple, this is the sad truth and another ridiculous Biden Administration policy that will seriously impact our nation. With a mandate to be more inclusive, medical schools are literally dumbing down admissions standards for minority applicants. Get ready for DEI doctors coming to a hospital near you.
Actual Proof: UCLA Medical School
A whistleblower at UCLA has evidence that shows the medical school has dramatically lowered admissions. As a result, they point out that 50 percent of cohorts are now failing basic tests of medical competence. Elon Musk retweeted a recent post from @aaronsibarium that included the shocking internal data ascertained by The Washington Free Beacon, confirming the whistleblower’s claim.
The article points out that even though affirmative action has been illegal in the state of California since 1996, they are clearly motivated to increase minority admissions under the guise of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion). As a matter of fact, Dean of Admissions, Jennifer Lucero, recently stated:
"Did you not know African-American women are dying at a higher rate than everybody else? The candidate's scores shouldn't matter because we need people like this in the medical school."
Another former member of the admissions staff stated in the article, “We want racial diversity so badly, we’re willing to cut corners to get it.” They’re not even worried about saying the quiet part out loud. And why should they? This has been going on for years, with a recent uptick in the last two years.
Drastic Change in School Ranking
Within three years of Lucero's hiring in 2020, UCLA dropped from 6th to 18th place in U.S. News & World Report's rankings for medical research. And in some of the cohorts she admitted, more than 50 percent of students failed standardized tests on emergency medicine, family medicine, internal medicine, and pediatrics. This is quite alarming for any of us who are on the receiving end of medical care. Is there even one mother of any race who would wish to have their child diagnosed by someone who failed the standardized test on pediatrics? When it comes to receiving medical care, who in their right mind is concerned about ensuring that their doctor was hired because he or she checks all the DEI boxes? This is right up there with airline pilots. “I want to make sure the pilot of the flight I’m on is representing a minority group,” said no one EVER!
So, despite the fact that UCLA Medical School has dropped dramatically in school rankings, there doesn’t seem to be concern about changing their admissions policies any time soon. Consider that nationally, about 5 percent of students fail the shelf exams typically taken at the end of each clinical rotation. The rates continue to climb at UCLA, with a tenfold increase in some subjects since 2020. Interestingly, this uptick coincides with the steep drop in the number of Asian students. Just look at some of the chilling outcomes.
One professor said that a student in the operating room could not identify a major artery when asked, then berated the professor for putting her on the spot. Another said that students at the end of their clinical rotations don't know basic lab tests and, in some cases, are unable to present patients.
"I don't know how some of these students are going to be junior doctors," the professor said. "Faculty are seeing a shocking decline in knowledge of medical students."
It will be no surprise that Dean Lucero also serves as the vice chair for equity, diversity, and inclusion of UCLA's anesthesiology department. The admissions committee routinely gives black and Latino applicants a pass for subpar metrics, while whites and Asians need near perfect scores to even be considered. So UCLA is doubling down on diversity goals as opposed to turning out highly competent doctors. The following statistics illustrate the student demographic changes from 2019 to 2022.
High Test Scores and GPAs No Longer Enough to Get Into Medical School
It is a sad day in America when you can be a superstar honors student, even obtaining a perfect score on an ACT test, and still be denied admission into the school of your choice. This is happening frequently as DEI pushers become even more entrenched in our institutions. The following post exemplifies this discriminatory phenomenon:
This is not an isolated case. We heard about a local Fire Department that has four young men trying to get into medical school: three white and one African American. The three young white men (two of whom have remarkable GPAs and test scores) have yet to be accepted as their African American colleague is already heading off to medical school. All are happy for their friend who was accepted; however, after striving their entire lives to get into medical school—staying home on Friday nights, missing out on parties, dates, and other social events to stay home and study to achieve their goals—they will have to keep applying and hope that one day they, too, will be accepted into medical school. Does that seem fair to you? Just imagine if that were the other way around!
Extends to LGBTQ as Well
A source from a Texas teaching hospital confirms he's been told by his DEI supervisor to give a "second look" on medical students applying that fit the race and LGBTQ+ categories that he might have passed over the first time because they lacked merit. White "straight" males he was instructed to put at the bottom of the list. Resumes from LGBT+ candidates, he was told, would contain code words to help him identify those candidates. Yes, you read that correctly!
Still Fighting for Equality
It seems that Martin Luther King’s life’s dream has taken a strange turn.
“I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character.” ~ Martin Luther King, Jr.
It seems like we got very close to that coming true, but in most recent times, it has gone in reverse. Do we think African American people appreciate lower expectations and being given special compensation for getting into universities BECAUSE they are black? Don’t you think this qualifies as a new version of racism, and one that does not benefit anyone? The irony coming from leftist ideology is quite extraordinary when you consider they are the ones always labeling people as racists whenever truth and data are shared.
This manipulation of the truth is a grotesque game they like to play when they have nothing intelligent to add to the conversation or when they have absolutely no solutions to the many problems that oftentimes are the result of their absurd, unintelligent policies like DEI. These programs are literally a menace to society and only cause divisiveness and, ultimately, the destruction of our beautiful nation built on Judeo-Christian values, which has made the United States the most incredible example of a free society, of which most of the world is envious.
Unfortunately, we are on the brink of losing our freedoms if the leftist agenda wins in 2024. And remember, this article is a microcosm of the full impact of their Marxist ideologies—there is so much more to lose. It is more important now than it ever has been for every citizen to support the right candidates and get involved at the local level to ensure that our vote counts. And don’t forget to support the companies that support values based on merit.
